This fit-out for Primark was their 3rd Store in Rotterdam and one of the world's largest Primark buildings. The store was over 5 floors, including a basement and was constructed over a high rise apartment block. The 2nd floor was left to shell and core standard, ready to be sub-let to a multinational firm.
The site is a prime city center location, with existing trams located next to the entrance. A high rise residential apartment block adjoined the Primark building. The challenge was ensure plant was suitability acoustically rated due to the proximity of the apartments and plant lifts coordinated with the trams.
The project was a huge success with the client heaping praise on the design team. Due to COVID and travel restrictions we carried out all site visits and meetings remotely using Matterport software and MS Teams (respectively) making the project a success.
Assisted to select low noise Air Handling Units and opted for a dry air cooler solution to ensure we achieved the stringent noise requirements at the boundary wall. Metec also assist with the permit application to assist with the plant lifts due to the close proximity of the live trams.
